On 2 October 2023, the Regional Inspectorate of Environment and Water (RIEW) – Shumen issued an environmental impact assessment (EIA) decision, approving the implementation of the investment proposal of Energaya EOOD to build a wind park for production of electricity – “Gabritsa” and an overhead power line (110kV), connecting the future 33/110kV “Bliznatsi” substation to the grid of the Electricity System Operator (ESO EAD) in land plots in the villages of Drentsi, Gabritsa, Chernoglavtsi – Venets municipality, and in Bliznatsi and Kalino – Hitrino municipality; an overhead power line in the villages of Bliznatsi, Dlazhko, Dobri Voynikovo, Slivak, Timarevo and Cherna – Hitrino municipality, as well as in the villages of Struino and Panayot Volovo – Shumen municipality.
With the EIA decision, conditions and measures have been established for the prevention, reduction and, if possible, the elimination of adverse impacts on the environment and human health, as well as a plan has been set for the implementation of the measures in the phases of design, construction and operation of the facility.
Within the statutory period, the decision was not appealed in accordance with the Administrative Procedure Code and entered into legal force on 19 October 2023.
