On August 30 and 31, 2025, the traditional municipal fair took place in the villages of Trem and Cherna, Hitrino Municipality—one of the most significant cultural and sporting events in the region, once again bringing together residents, guests, and participants from both Bulgaria and abroad.
The fair offered a rich program featuring traditional folk wrestling, horse racing, and the spectacular oil wrestling tournament—a competition with centuries-old roots and deep ties to Balkan cultural tradition.
This year’s tournament saw the participation of nearly 100 wrestlers from nine countries: Bulgaria, Turkey, Greece, North Macedonia, Cyprus, Romania, Moldova, Albania, and Ukraine. The traditional fair in Trem and Cherna continues to be an important part of the socio-cultural life of Hitrino Municipality, serving as a symbol of generational continuity and unity around Bulgarian and Balkan traditions.
The event was supported by the Gabritsa Wind Park, which contributed to the realization of this important local initiative.
